** WE ARE NOW HIRING FOR 2020 **

It's great you are interested in joining the team here at the Applecross Inn.

About Us

The Inn is a small, but very busy Inn, on the popular NC500 route, in the North-West Highlands of Scotland. To help keep all our lovely customers happy, we require reliable, hard-working, friendly team-playing members of staff to join the team for 2020 (and maybe beyond!).

Judith, the owner of the Inn of 30+ years, prides herself (and the Inn) on providing warm welcoming friendly service to all who come to eat, drink or stay at the Inn. This is achieved by providing great food, drinks and comfortable accommodation.  Our fabulous employees work across a number of areas: the kitchen, the prep room, front of house, housekeeping, the take-away van, the bar, cleaning, maintenance and administration. Ideally, we like our staff to be quite multi-functional and adaptable in their roles this not only provides variety but helps us be more efficient. Given how hard we all work, through the long season, we encourage a happy and positive team spirit across the Inn, if we are happy, so are our customers (many of whom have been coming for years)!

Our employees consist of a mixture of local permanent members of staff and those who come for, some or all of ‘the season’ (April-October). Whilst we do have staff accommodation, it is on a 2 share (per room) basis and is limited. Please note we are not able to accommodate pets.

Please be aware that Applecross, where the Inn is situated, is in beautiful small remote rural village but does have limited services/shops. We do have a small village shop, a fuel station, 3 cafe/restaurants, a gift shop, a photo gallery, a community hall (which has events and evening classes), a local museum/heritage center and lots of lovely walks and, of course, access to the sea! So there is bit going on but  if you haven't lived anywhere this rural before, you may find it helpful to look through our website/Facebook page to see what the Inn and the wider community have to offer, before contacting us. It is helpful to have your own vehicle (as much as for you to explore the area on your time off) but not essential as there is (limited) public transport which services the village. Overall, it is a lovely place to live and work.

Details of our current vacancies for 2020 are below.

Current Vacancies

We currently have 3 positions available on a Full Time basis, ongoing or seasonal. These positions are offered on a rotating shift basis, normally working 5-6 days with 1-2 days off per week. During the high season, March- October, we offer a minimum of 40 hours per week. There may be some weekly hours available over the quieter months too. This ‘more seasonal’ arrangement provides an ideal opportunity to work hard and save, for the seasonal months, and then enjoy more downtime for travel and other pursuits during the quieter winter months.

More information about the positions which are available are below. Please note if you are interested in applying, but don't think you have quite enough experience/skills, we can offer on the job training for the right applicants. These positions will, ideally, start early March and continue until late October or beyond! We would like to receive applications by Thursday 20th of February 2020.

If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and short covering email to hello@applecrossinn.co.uk. If we are interested in progressing your application we will get in touch, to arrange a Skype or similar type interview/chat (we're a bit far away to come to, in person!). If you are successful, we will require work-based references from previous employers. If you would just like some more information before applying or would like to have a chat please send us an email or phone 01520 744 262.
